Welcome to our 2/3 grade multiage classroom at Clearwater Valley!
I am thrilled that we will be working together as a team for your child. We will have a valuable and joyful school year. I am available before and after school on most days to visit with you if you have any suggestions or concerns about your child. Please keep me informed if health concerns like medications or allergies are present or if there will be a change to the regular routine of how your child goes home. Sometimes children worry or cannot remember the plans.
We will begin our year by developing a community of learners within our classroom. It is important that children know how to work together and communicate. We focus on respect, responsibility, and doing our best. Our classroom belongs to all of us so please feel free to come and visit. I only ask that you give me a heads up as it sometimes disrupts the learning taking place when we have visitors in the class if we're not prepared.
You might expect to see children working in small groups, at computers, or with teachers, and sometimes in a large group. Will real learning be going on in this busy classroom? Definitely! It takes planning and learning the structure of the classroom to make this happen. We will continually discuss the goals, standards, and routines of our class as the year progresses.
Learning is a lifelong journey into a wonderful place as vast as the imagination.
